This week’s house activities, organised by Sapphires, brought competitive spirit and fun to Panyaden as students faced off in Monopoly, basketball, and eco-friendly crafting. The day proved that whether on the court or around the board game, every house was determined to claim victory.
Basketball: Emeralds Reign Supreme
The Assembly Hall hosted intense basketball competitions split between middle and high school divisions. In the high school bracket, the Emeralds soared to first place, with Akoya securing a strong second. Black Diamonds and Sapphire tied for third place, showcasing balanced competition across all houses.
The middle school competition told a different story, with Akoya claiming the top spot and Sapphires finishing close behind in second place. Emeralds and Black Diamonds tied for third, proving that talent and determination are spread throughout the school.

Monopoly: Sapphire’s Money Talks
Across campus, students proved their tycoon skills in a thrilling game of Monopoly. After an hour of strategic property acquisitions and shrewd deals, Sapphire emerged as the biggest financial powerhouses, amassing an impressive $1,823.
Akoya came remarkably close behind with $1,800, just $23 away from the crown. Emeralds secured third place with $1,732, while Black Diamonds rounded out the competition with $1,400.

Going Green with Eco-Bricks
Beyond the games, students also had the opportunity to contribute to the school’s environmental efforts by assisting Kru Owen in creating Eco-Bricks, proving that house activities can be both fun and meaningful.
From basketball to bankruptcy, this was a highly-contested house activity day that reminded us all why these competitions matter: not just for bragging rights, but for the spirit of community and friendly rivalry that defines Panyaden.
